Most people forget that they can use insurance to pay for their eye care products and services. Eye glasses and contact lenses that are prescribed by optometrists should be part of your annual medical spending account. Insurance will cover you every 12 or 24 months. We can check remotely and provide the right services for all of your eye care needs at the right time.
OHIP will also cover in certain cases if you are between 20 and 64 years of age. The coverage is provided every 12 months to the persons with the following conditions: diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, cataract, retinal disease, amblyopia, visual field defects, corneal disease, strabismus, recurrent uveitis or optic pathway disease.
People 65 years and older and those younger than 20, are covered by OHIP for a routine eye examination provided by either an optometrist or physician once every 12 months plus any follow-up assessments that may be required.
